A tiger, a back hoe loader and too much candy. Wow did we have fun. Both Noah and Harrison got into it. We left out some candy because the boys NEEDED to go to bed, and someone stole my bowl. It was a wedding gift. I’m ticked, and I’ll be holding out next year. No candy for you!!!

Noah insisted that he wanted to be a back hoe loader for Halloween, so I made him one. I don’t have a crafty bone in my body. We don’t do projects at this house. But, I think it turned out pretty darn cute. I attached little hooks inside so I can use bungy cords like suspenders. Noah is in love with his back hoe loader costume, but I cannot get him to put it on long enough to snap a pic. Harrison was kind enough to hold it up so I could get a pick of both the back hoe and the loader sides. Hopefully, Noah will wear the costume tonight…
Harrison will be a Tiger as both his name and personality fit. Plus I already had the costume.
Happy Trick or Treating!!!

It is the most gorgeous day outside, almost Indian summer type of day, and we’ve been out in it from the butt crack of dawn… almost.
Take a look at these shoes. Not dirty with old broken laces. Burnt! How you ask, only a Polack could manage it unscathed. We were at RiverBend this morning hiking with our friends Carla, Nathan and Hayden and Noah found a big pile of ash. He ran through it and stood in the middle. Carla yells, “It’s still smoldering!” I rush over to get Noah out of the ash, but of course he thinks the whold scenario is funny, and he’s in warm ash up to his knees. Not a mark on him…
I think our days of playing in the sand are about over. I’ll be most glad to have less sand on my kitchen floor.

We have a new member of the fam, little Emily (Mila) P. She’s an absolute doll.
She really makes me realize how big my boys are getting. Here’s a few of their recent milestone highlights:
Noah:
- pooped in the potty
- speaking in sentences consistently AND using near the appropriate number of syllables per word
- doesn’t nap everyday anymore
Harrison
- eats with utensils, and is suprisingly good at it
- follows 2 step commands like grab the yougart and go over to your chair (maybe that doesn’t count, he is heavily motivated by food)
- took a nap today in his own bed in his own room. Not that he has never slept in before, but we’re all for trying it!
I’m so enjoying these kids.

I couldn’t stand the idea of being in the house all morning. Our backyard is like a swamp with all that rain, and the front yard is not much better. Lisa’s puddle is always such a draw…
I took the boys to Betty Brinn for the morning. It was the first time Harrison had been old enough to participate, and he loved it! You’d think the boys would be all over trying something new. No, the very first thing they did was grab the lawn mowers and reak havoc all over the tot playland. I had to take them away after we started lawnmower bumper crash.
Harrison showed off his newest skill: drinking from a straw!

We tried making our own cinnamon rolls this morning. I cheated and used Jiffy mix.
They did not even compare with Cinnabon… I remember the best part of going to the mall with my sisters was sharing one of those HUGE Cinnabons. I probably could eat an entire one myself but a stomach-ache would surely follow.

My garden was crazy this year. The basil did not grow, only one of my tomato plants produced (and we’re still picking ‘em for Harrison to eat), gourds went bezerk, and my carrots look evil. I think we planted too many too close together. It was my first time doing carrots and we started them from seed. They are tasty. I put them in a chicken pot pie last night and everyone ate it up!

We have a book that Noah requests frequently titled Me Too! The premise is that Critter’s little sis always wants to do what he does, much to Critter’s dismay. But Critter is a good big brother and helps his little sis to do whatever he is doing.
Today Noah was playing with playdough, Harrison “said” Me Too. I got him some paper and crayons. This was Harrison’s response.
So, here is Noah and Harrison playing with playdough. I have to give Harry credit, he did not eat a single morsel of playdough.

Crostata is easier than pie… Noah loves cooking, and we have nearly half a bushel of apples to use.
- Roll out crust
- Fill with cut up apples, white and brown sugar and cinnamon
- Fold up crust and paint with egg wash
- Bake at 400 for 40 min
Bet it won’t last more than a day!
Rob and I were feeling like parents of the year. It was just after 7pm, and both of our darling boys were asleep in their respective sleeping spots. Here’s goes the conversation:
Leah: “Is Noah asleep”
Rob: “Yes”
Leah: “Let’s watch the Unit”
Noah: (a soft voice from upstairs) “Noah a woke” repetitively… but muffled, and not too clear
Rob: chiding Leah “Why are you so loud? You need to lay low” Rob places another log on the fire and grudgingly tromps upstairs to assist Noah back to sleep.
The pitter patter of Noah’s feet coming down the stairs…
Rob: “You have to assist with this”
Noah: “Noah throw up. Too much green beans” Noah is covered in vomit. Rob comes down with ALL the bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets, mattress pad)
Rob throws sheet on kitchen floor. Lying in the middle is no less than 2 cups of green beans, partially digested, and very stinky! Mom gets to clean up the child and the mess. Dad’s stomach is in knots, and his nose is “sensitive”
Noah: “Green beans yucky”
